Dr. Leroy David Nunery II is Founder and Principal of Plus Ultre LLC, a strategic advisory company started in 2007 whose mantra of Inspiration, Imagination, and Innovation" reflects its approach to enhancing the strategic and operational capacities of educational, non-profit, and entrepreneurial entities around the country. PlsUltr focuses on turnaround and transformation strategies, growth and replication models, coaching and mentoring, and resource development.
His 40 years of professional experience includes corporate banking and capital markets, higher education, professional sports (National Basketball Association), charter schools, and several years in a family-owned electrical contracting firm started in 1969, Leroy Nunery & Sons, Inc.
Dr. Nunery has deep governance experience, and is currently a board member for The Benchmark School, Philadelphia Outward Bound School, Bartram's Gardens, The Alumni Advisory Board for University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education Executive Doctorate Program, and the National Council of Washington University's Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement. He has served as an external board member of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Inc., a member of the board of directors for Pitney Bowes, Inc., and as a Trustee of his alma mater, Lafayette College. He is a Lifetime Member of the National Black MBA Association, Inc., and served as National President (1983 - 1987).
Dr. Nunery is a frequent public speaker on educational access, leadership, and organizational development. He is the author of a groundbreaking demographic and psychographic study called The Journey of African American Insurance Professionals: Past and Present", commissioned by Marsh Companies, which provides insights on opportunities and challenges for African Americans within the insurance industry. Among other recognitions and awards, he has been awarded the Wallace L. Jones Lifetime Achievement Award by the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (www.cgsm.org) and the Alumni Achievement and Community Engagement Award from Washington University's Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement (http://gephardtinstitute.wustl.edu/). Lafayette College created the Leroy D. Nunery Award for Intellectual Citizenship, given to a student of color for leadership and academic excellence.
Dr. Nunery is a graduate of Lafayette College (B.A., Honors in History, 1977), Washington University (M.B.A., 1979), and the University of Pennsylvania (Ed.D., 2003). He is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.

Post-Conference Session Exclusively for Association Leaders
During this special post-conference session, association leaders will have an opportunity to share ideas gathered from the Level Up Agent Summit. Dr. Leroy Nunery will also facilitate an interactive session on how the association can make the best business cases for its diversity and inclusion initiatives. Lastly, there will be an open discussion with leaders from the Big "I" Diversity Council and key multicultural affinity group leaders on collaborative efforts to promote membership growth and retention. Key session questions: What does success look like? What will it take to get there? How can the Big "I" Diversity Council help?
